Folks,

Do any of your programs/majors require students to purchase their own equipment (laptops, still cameras, video cameras, and audio recorders)?

If so, can you tell me how you came to that decision? What are the pluses and minuses? How specific are you about which equipment is required? What are the pitfalls if we decide to take this step?

We are investigating this alternative because purchasing and maintaining equipment for student checkout is getting to be a challenge.
